Abstract

Until the early 1990s, Urban History was a neglected area in French historiography. However, due to the perception of the urban crisis and its structural causes, French Urban Studies have been experiencing a boom since the turn of the century. This article gives an overview of recent projects and publications as well as of institutional networks and infrastructures dealing with the contemporary history of French cities in the last two decades.
