Abstract

Based on official reports of the Reichsparteitage of Germany’s Nazi-Party between 1923 and 1938/39 this article brings together musical settings, lasting impressions, and urban environment of these gatherings. Hence, Historical Performance Analysis is applied to reconstruct the staging’s impression. Consequently one considers those congresses as ritualised performances aiming politically on a show of force and on an ideologically inspired community-building using the conquered city space as a stage.
